Enjoyed running across this blog today. We've now added it to the aggregated 'Indy Bloggers' feed shown at IndyChristian.com.

I particularly enjoyed this post -- it reminded me that this Bible-tracking method is what I used 20 years ago to get started reading through the Bible. Now I've been through it many times.

Only 1 or 2 percent of Americans have read through the Bible even once. Is it any wonder Barna says only 4% of Americans hold a biblical worldview? So thank you Dave for leading Christ-followers into this important & helpful spiritual disipline.

It's easy to forget all the things God has done for me sometimes and get wrapped up in whatever crisis I seem to find myself in the moment. But as I was reminded today we cannot add one hour to our life by worrying about it, let God handle the stresses and challenges we face. Worrying gets you nowhere trusting in God can take you were you need to be. I must try to remind myself of this daily.

An unpleasant blessing................wow, I can now look back on a lot of things in my life that I thought were unpleasant at the time, but turned out to be quite a blessing later. I guess I'm as slow to understand as the Israelites! Another good reason to "Rejoice in our trials".

bev47, You're not alone in that little struggle - and certainly God's will takes priority over ours when we pray.

Perhaps the key is in cultivating a greater appreciation for just how much He loves us and how much we are able to trust Him.

Focusing on those two things - His love, our capacity to trust - can help us to more truly desire His will - even when we aren't 100% sure what it is. We may not get exactly what we want all the time, but that won't cause our confidence to be shaken or feel like such a struggle. It can be more like cheerful submission to a wise and loving Father who desires our absolute best.

I struggle with this "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” - Matthew 21:22 (NKJV)"

Because I wonder what if what I am praying for isn't what God wants for me. Maybe he has another plan and what I am asking for doesn't fit in that plan. This then shakes my confidence to believe that what I ask for I will receive. I hope but I can't say for sure whether it will happen or not.
